Vintage Barbie Open Road #985 Outfit
1. Khaki car coat with toggle closure, one extra toggle
2. A red, black, and gray stripe pant with working zippered back
3. Soft beige short sleeve sweater
4. Large straw brimmed hat, trimmed with red triangle scarf stitched into the hat to be tied under Barbie's chin
5. Red rimmed sunglasses with blue lenses (only outfit that includes these)
6. Red cork wedge shoes
7. Mattel paper Road Map
As is customary, the black and white Barbie R by Mattel label is stitched into only one piece of the outfit, the coat.
Not included:
one toggle closure for the coat and one stem of the red glasses
Condition: Very good original vintage condition.
A family member is the original owner who played with these items in 1958-1963. Barbie’s fashion clothes have been in storage since the 1960s. After researching various sources, I elected not to wash or dry clean the clothing so that buyers have the option of doing so. Collectors have specific restoration preferences and I do not want to disappoint anyone. I will answer questions to the best of my knowledge & ability within a week.
