Exciting find is that this set includes pieces from #748 and #758: gears and pulleys, wheel and axle toys!!! Build a train engine! Build a city!
In good used vintage condition. A few small number of pieces seem to have a barely noticeable melt condition on a peg or brick side. Some discoloration mainly on white pieces. Multiple sets, unknown years as there are no storage/canister/tube or instructions. Many bricks have numbers on the bottom probably to match the instructions. Some internet photos show the tubes were sold as "American Plastic Bricks by Elgo," but others do not have Elgo on them. Halsam was bought by Playskool in 1962 which sold the brand to Milton Bradley in 1970. In 1977 Milton Bradley discontinued making American Bricks.
One age estimate suggests 3-12 years old players, but now, interlocking bricks, gears, pulleys, and wheels are essential parts of STEAM (science, technology, engineering, the arts, and mathematics) education at home and at school. Not LEGO, Duplo, or Mega bricks.
A different brick for a different time. Stay at home, stay safe and stay engaged in Science, Engineering, Technology, and Maths while remote learning.
