In good used vintage condition showing bright colors although the button is missing its pin back, and it has not been altered by cleaning. The back of the button is heavily rusted.

President Harry S. Truman was Vice President when President Franklin D. Roosevelt died. He oversaw the end of American fighting in World War II and ordered the use of the first war-time nuclear weapons against Japan. As a Democrat, he won the 1948 election to the presidency and served until 1953. During Truman's presidency were many other notable events and policies including the Marshall Plan, the Cold War, NATO, the Berlin airlift, and the beginning of the Korean War (yet unresolved in Winter 2020). What were political campaigns like in those days?
