World War II Soldier's Asian Hand Embroidered Silk Pajamas from The Philippines 1945 Retro Pajamas Gift for Her
Silk jacket and pants, lounge set, or petite or child size pajamas. Yellow under colorful embroidered flowers with pink borders. Brought home to the USA from The Philippines, Dec. 1945. Given by a Navy Motor Machinist Mate to his girlfriend on returning from serving in the Pacific.
Though it was small for my petite mother-in-law, she always kept it of course! I'm looking for a good home for this treasure. Might be displayed, framed wall decor, or used as a photo prop in bedrooms, restaurants, or Veterans Day commemorations. Use as a one-time silk costume after button replacement(s). Pockets.
No stains. Embroidery from the fabric behind the focus casts shadows in some pictures. As an antique, the set's fabric shows a little age such as barely noticeable pin holes.
Measurements:
Top: 35 inches torso, sleeve 8 inches from the armhole, 17 inches total with gathered top
Buttons appear to be bakelite, one of three missing.
Pant: 40 inches long, 25 inches (61cm) inseam, 23 inches (32 cm) wide at the bottom
Waist: 30 inches with slight gathers and pleats in the back band
